McDonald's has a slew of fun items you can snag by ordering off the secret menu (the brunch burger <3). But there's one that's the Secret Menu Item to end all Secret Menu Items, and it's only available at two McDonald's locations in the United States.
It's called the McPizza — McDonald's Pizza — and people travel from around the country (and Canada) to get their hands on it.
According to Eater, the McPizza was introduced to McDonald's stores across the country in the late 1980s and was available until the late '90s. Eater says most places eventually removed it from the menu due to its 11-minute cook time, because it went against the company's "fast food" philosophy.
Today the McPizza is still available at two McDonald's locations in Pomeroy, Ohio, and Spencer, West Virginia. The restaurants have kind of become urban legends: Do they really have pizza?
They really do, you guys.
A recent YouTube video of Mitchell Boughner, Nathan Dallaire, and Dan Sutherland —three bros from Canada — traveling to Spencer, West Virginia in search for McPizza went viral. The (probably) hangry squad documented their eight-hour adventure to the country roads in search of the McPizza, and the video now has more than 100,000 views.
Spoiler: They found the McPizza. While the road trip may have taught (or reminded) us about the menu item, you'll find a ton of photos of this coveted item if you search #McPizza on Instagram.
